Hey!
I’m going to briefly talk about my foundation routine for summer.
I love the look and coverage of liquid foundation (especially Revlon ColorStay’s), but it is just too much work in the summer and can be too heavy.
I feel like my skin needs to breathe a little and liquid was really clogging my pores. So I decided to try the mineral version of my favorite foundation. I have seen a big differance in my skin.
I got the color Light/Medium 040. It has SPF 10 in it and says it has 16 hours of wear. I can’t justify for a certain number of hours, but it last a pretty long time. The coverage is also really good for a mineral foundation.
The packaging on this sucks! It comes with an awful brush under the cap that twist up or down. Its way too small and it permanently squished flat. So I used a kabuki brush for it and it works fine.
The first thing I do for my foundation routine is apply the Jergens Natural Glow Face Moisturizer. Read a few posts back for a detailed review and results on that.
Then I apply MAC’s Studio Finish Concealer in NC20.
It is best to apply this BEFORE mineral foundation. Mineral foundation is pretty much foundation and setting powder combined so its better to apply it before. If you have really oily skin then you might need a setting powder on top of the foundation. But it works fine with me without it and I have combination skin.
Then I use ELF’s Studio Bronzer in Cool. This is an awesome bronzer for winter. I am searching for the perfect summer bronzer so I’m using this for now. I’m thinking of NARS Laguna Bronzer. What do you all recommend?
Then I finish off with Maybelline’s Dream Mousse Blush in Peach Satin. This is the best peachy-pink shade. It has shimmer in it too so its good for a highlighter as well. But its not too shimmery either. I prefer cream, gel, or mousse blush with mineral foundation because it sticks better. Powder works too, but it takes layering and might fade throughout the day.
What is your Summer Foundation Routine? Do you all prefer mineral or liquid foundation?
Let me know!!
XOXO,
Gena
