VIDEO: Nuance Salma Hayek Brand Review & Tutorial

Nuance Salma Hayek is a drugstore brand you can find exclusively at CVS. Their products range from makeup to skincare and body, to haircare. They are cruelty free, and contain natural ingredients. I will be reviewing a verity of items from the brand, but this does not include the entire line.

Nuance Flawless Wear Tinted Moisturizer

Shades Light & Light/Medium

This is a light coverage tinted moisturizer that evens out your skin tone, but does not cover freckles or blemishes. This would be ideal for younger teens, or those who do not wish to wear a lot of makeup. It’s perfect for days you just want a natural glowing look. It blends out flawlessly, and does not feel oily on the skin. It is oil-free, and won’t clog your pores.

Nuance Front & Center Concealer & Brightener

Shades Light & Light/Medium

This a double ended product that has a stick concealer on one end, and a liquid brightener on the other. The concealer provides medium coverage, and is a drier formula. It blends out best with the warmth of your fingers. It is perfect for quickly concealing under the eyes and on any blemishes.

In my opinion, the brightener end was not pigmented, and did not have any brightening properties. I found that it was not light enough in color to brighten, and when blended out couldn’t be seen. But I love the concealer side!

Shade Light

This is a pressed mineral foundation that provides light coverage. It’s ultra smooth and has a semi-matte finish. It works perfectly overtop a foundation, tinted moisturizer, or on its own. It looks natural on the skin, and allows your skin to breath.

Nuance Translucent Setting Powder

Shade Light/Medium

This setting powder is a matte-finish and adds little to no color. It works great at setting liquid face makeup and keeping it on all day. It will not make you look cakey, and helps prevent oil from forming. It includes a cap over the sifter that will keep the powder from falling all over the place.

Nuance Flawless Mineral Cheek Duo

Shade Spice

This awesome 3-in-1 product combines bronzer, blush, and a highlighter. It’s so convenient, and comes in a variety of different shades. My shade, spice, is a gorgeous burnt orange color that warms up the entire face- ideal for fall and winter months. The bronzer apply matte, and works great for contouring since it is not orangey at all. The highlighter is also great, and gives your skin a healthy looking glow.

Nuance Natural Look Brow Liner

Shade Brown

This product was definitely my favorite out of everything. Its a dual ended eye brow pencil that has a spoolie on one side for combing and blending out your brows, and the brow pencil on the other. I like how the pencil’s texture is not too creamy, so it looks very natural. Its super thin too, so you can mimic brow hairs.

Nuance Lights, Camera, Action Eye Trio

Shade Bronze/Gold

This is another 3-in-1 product that has a cream eyeshadow, a cream stick eye shadow, and an eyeliner. The bronze cream shadow appears pigmented until blended out on the eye, and then doesn’t have as much color payoff. The white cream shadow stick is beautiful and shimmery, and very pigmented. I use this to highlight my inner corners and under my brows. It would also work great as an all over eyeshadow base. The black eyeliner pencil is excellent quality and doesn’t smudge.

Nuance Beautiful Blends Eye Quad

Shades Smokey & Neutral

The two eyeshadow quads are fantastic quality for the price. They blend out flawlessly and are super pigmented. Some shades are ultra shimmery, while other have more of a satin finish. They both would look gorgeous on anyone, but the Smokey one I think would accent green or hazel eyes beautifully.

Nuance Lasting Wear Gel Liner

Shades Black & Gray

These eyeliners are ultra creamy, and are definitely like a gel liner in pencil form. They glide on so smooth, and can be blended out for a smokey look. They may need to be set with an eyeshadow if your liner usually smudges bad. I did not have a problem though with smudging.

Nuance Full Effect Ultra-Volumizing Mascara

Shade Black

This mascara is a basic mascara, that separates and ads length without clumping. The brush is skinny, and is easy to use. This did not provide my lashes with as much volume as I like, but it is buildable. It gives your lashes a very clean, natural look.

Nuance Rose Petal Hydrating Balm

This is a all purpose balm that can be used on your lips, cuticles, or skin. It has primrose oil to help soothe dry skin and prevent dryness. I was not fond of the smell of this, but the quality was great. It also comes out clear.

Nuance Color Vibrance Lipstick

Shades Wine (top) & Passion Pink (bottom)

These were another one of my favorites out of everything. The are very creamy and hydrating because they contain Vitamin E oil. The shade Wine is sheer and shimmery, so it’s perfect for those who don’t want a bold wine color. The Passion Pink shade is a bright fuchsia, and definitely more opaque. Perfect for summer time!

Nuance Ultra Shine Lipgloss

Shades Pomegranate (top) and Clear (bottom)

These are silky smooth tube lip glosses that are very shiny. The Pomegranate is very pigmented, and the Clear is great to top any lipstick with. They last pretty long, and are comfortable on the lips.

Nuance Nail Polish

Shades Crushed Violet, Deep Orchid, Vapor, Evening Haze, Nightshadow, Prickly Pear (left to right)

I was so surprised by the quality of these nail polishes. They are extremely opaque and the finish glides on beautifully. They don’t take long to dry, and have a shiny finish. They also last on your nails without any major chipping for about a week.

Overall

I really enjoyed every item, and I think the brand as a whole is excellent. Their color selection is limited, but the quality is great. My favorites were definitely the brown pencil, lipsticks, and nail polishes. The prices are also fairly reasonable, and in the middle range.
