A lot of people in their twenties feel like their skin is going to look great forever. After all, many people have just overcome some of the skin problems associated with youth, and their skin has never looked better.
However, for some people, skin problems from their teenage years can linger. For others, new skin problems can develop, even if they never had them earlier in life.
While your skin might look great in your twenties, and chances are you’re still free of wrinkles, fine lines and crow’s feet, those things are unfortunately just around the corner. Using a face cream can help you correct skin problems, but it can also make your skin look better once you reach your 30s and 40s.

Acne
Acne is pretty common for teenagers, and for many adults, that means acne scars can linger in their early and mid-20s. If you have acne scars or spots left over from acne, using a moisturizing face cream can have tremendous benefits.
That’s because well-moisturized skin tends to show blemishes and spots much less than dry skin. Moist, supple skin also has a more even tone. If you have acne scars or acne-related spots, using a moisturizing face cream every day can make them less visible to the naked eye.
Adult onset acne is also relatively common for adults in their early to mid-20s. While acne treatments can be very helpful, a non-comedogenic face cream can make the spots appear less visible, especially if you have very mild acne – the most common kind for young adults.

Dark Circles and Patches
Young adults in their 20s commonly see dark circles under their eyes for one reason – lack of sleep. After all, most adults are just starting stressful careers or building families between 20 and 30. Along with dark circles under the eyes, dark patches around the face can also creep up due to a general lack of sleep.
While sleeping more can help, and you really should aim for at least six hours of sleep each night for optimal health, using a face cream on a regular basis can make those dark patches and spots less obvious. For women that wear makeup, covering dark patches and spots evenly is also much easier when you have well-moisturized skin.
Pregnancy
Pregnant women commonly experience dark patches on the cheeks, mouth or forehead due to a condition known as melasma or pregnancy mask. Pregnancy mask occurs because of a rise in estrogen production which stimulates melanin production – the substance that gives your skin its color.
While pregnancy mask will go away on its own over time, it can be frustrating and embarrassing for many expectant mothers and women who have just had their baby. Using a moisturizing face cream can make the dark spots less visible.
There are some women, because of the dark patches invest inskin lightening treatments. But most women instead just choose to use a lightening face cream after giving birth to reduce the visibility of the dark patch or patches.
Conclusion
It’s never too early to start using a high-quality face cream, even if your skin looks its absolute best. It can keep your skin from aging poorly, and it can correct minor imperfections visible in your skin.
If you have skin problems like acne scars, dark circles under your eyes or pregnancy mask, you should make using a good face cream part of your daily skincare regimen.
