Tips to Avoid Cakey Makeup:

• Exfoliate your skin at night to remove dry skin
• Hydrate your skin at night with a thick night cream, and in the morning with a lightweight moisturizer
• Use an under eye cream day and night to prevent concealer from looking cakey
• Use a primer before foundation to smooth skin and fill in pores
• Opt for a light weight foundation, tinted moisturizer, or BB Cream. Also look for foundations that are “luminizing” “radiant” “hydrating” or “anti aging”
• Apply foundation using a Beauty Blender or other makeup sponge
• Apply foundation in thin layers, and only using a second layer on problem areas
• Use a thin liquid concealer that still has full coverage
• Apply concealer with a Beauty Blender or synthetic blending brush
• Set foundation with a finely milled smooth powder only in areas where you get oily, like the T-zone
• Apply a makeup setting spray if needed to restore moisture to the skin
• Use a cream blush instead of a powder blush since they are more dewy and natural looking
