Washing your brushes is extremely important. If you take care of your brushes they will not only last longer, but will be more effective when you use them. The more makeup that is caked on the bristles, the tougher it is too wash them. Washing them roughly can lead to shedding and the brush can come apart. Studies have shown that bacteria doubles on brushes after 2 weeks. Therefore, you should give all your brushes a deep cleaning every 2 weeks to avoid breakouts. Face brushes like ones you use for foundation and concealer should be washed once or twice a week. A beauty blender should be washed after each use ideally, but I usually wash mine about every 2-3 times I use it.
