VIDEO: Bare Minerals Made-2-Fit Custom Foundation Review & Demo

Finding the correct shade of foundation is one of the biggest challenges with makeup. Everyone’s skin tone and shade varies so much, and each brand always has a different method of naming shades. I was so excited to see that Bare Minerals is taking shade-matching to the next level, and getting super high-tech with it to address the issue. Their new Made-2-Fit Foundation using a MATCHco technology to scan and analyze your skin tone to create your own custom-made shade. The app uses your phone’s camera, and after calibrating it you tap various areas of your face as it scans your color.

I was extremely skeptical because the idea of just using a camera phone doesn’t seem promising. But girl was I impressed! Just look at my shade match compared to my neck!

After the scan is complete it takes you to the order page, and your custom Made-2-Fit shade is blended, stamped your name right on the bottle, and arrives at your door in about a week.

The formula:

The “Fresh Faced Liquid Foundation” itself is a light, radiant finish. The formula is made for all skin types, and contains green tea extra, Vitamin E, and peptides. It’s great for ant-aging, and gives the most natural looking finish. I was impressed because my skin did not look like I was wearing foundation.

Is it long wearing?

I have pretty oily skin, so anticipated it to wear right off within a few hours. However it lasted all day (I did set it with powder), and it still looked great. It didn’t feel greasy or too dewy either.

Final thoughts:

I thought the shade match was on point. They do free returns if you don’t get your shade right the first time. However I feel like since the foundation is light coverage, most shades are going to match everyone. It reminds me more of a tinted moisturizer, but the finish was way better than all tinted moisturizers I’ve used. If you have bad acne or redness, you’re going to need additional concealer. If you’re a teen, or just someone who doesn’t need a lot of coverage, this is excellent at evening out the skin tone.
