Sometimes all it takes it one small—but game-changing—tweak when I watch my clients brush style.

If a section isn’t curling up:
✔️ Try placing your brush in front of the hair instead of behind
✔️ Brush through once to smooth any pieces that pop out (those create frizz!)
✔️ Then glide over the top to lay everything neatly
✔️ Follow the hair’s natural direction — on the sides, go side or back, not forward
These tiny adjustments make a huge difference in how your curls form, how smooth they dry, and how much volume you keep off your face.

Curls falling straight? Adjust the placement of your brush

This coaching clip is all about understanding your moisture cycle — and why some people can go 4–5 days between washes while others need to wash much sooner.

Everyone’s moisture cycle is different.
✔️ My curls usually dry out by day 4
✔️ Some people need to wash on day 3
✔️ Higher-porosity or more damaged hair dries out even faster (sometimes by day 2)

That’s why adding a light leave-in underneath your gel can help lock in moisture without weighing your hair down. And when refreshing, starting with something lightweight is key — like a leave-in spray or a very watery cream — so your curls don’t get overloaded.

Refreshing shouldn’t mean piling on products — just giving your curls a little conditioning and support where they need it most.
