List of silicones that are not water soluble (will weigh down curls and/or cause buildup):

Dimethicone
Dimethiconol
Stearyl Dimethicone
Ingredients that have the abbreviation “PEG” or “PPG” in front of it, along with Dimethicone Copolyol, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein Hydroxypropyl Polysiloxane, and Lauryl Methicone Copolyol are water-soluble and will not cause build up.
