VIDEO: Testing NEW e.l.f. Face Primers – No. 1 Primer in America?!

Today I’m putting 4 face primers from e.l.f. Cosmetics to the test! Special thanks to e.l.f. for providing the products to review and share my honest thoughts.

I love how they’re only around $6-$12, and have claims to fill in pores, brighten the skin, make foundation last longer, and more. In the video, I share my first impressions on how well they apply, how they look with my foundation, and how they wear throughout the day. My skin is combination, so I have dry areas and oily areas. This was perfect to test out the hydrating primers in those areas, and the oil-control and pore filling ones in other areas.

How did they hold up?

Overall, I was very impressed with how they all applied, and how my skin looked after applying foundation. I definitely had a dewy look to my cheeks, which is where I applied the Poreless Face Primer. This one was my favorite, and I found that my foundation looked the best in that area at the end of the day.

I wore them for about 10 hours without blotting or touch-ups. The other primers on other areas of my face I didn’t see any major issues with. My fine lines on my forehead were a bit more noticeable by the end of the day, so the Prep & Hydrate Balm didn’t help my foundation remain smooth. However, I didn’t notice any dryness in this area like I typically have.

If I had to choose just one, the Poreless Face Primer was definitely my favorite because it gave my skin a dewy glow which looked great under my matte foundation, without looking oily. This is something many struggle with that have oily skin, because we want to get a nice glow but want the finish to remain matte. I think this one was very comparable to high-end, pore-filling primers.
