Half Up Wedding Bridal Hairstyle for Curly Hair

I’m so excited to finally be sharing my wedding hairstyle with y’all! I just got married a few weeks ago, and wanted to do something simple with my hair naturally curly. I did my own hair and makeup, which not only saved money, but ensured it was just the way I like it styled natural. 

In the video, I take you through the full wash day routine, start to finish. I recommend doing this style on second day hair, so I share how I refreshed my hair the morning of the wedding, and touched it up right before pinning it back. 

The style is simple and easy to achieve, and is dressed up using rhinestone/jeweled hair pins from Amazon and a few bobby pins. I also share tips for making your curls more defined and how to achieve perfect ringlets that last all night. For more tips on how to make your hair curlier, check out my video here.

How to Section Curly Hair when Styling for Beginners - Prevent frizz, tangles, snags
Which gel has the most hold & longevity?👇🏼 Both are 🔗 in my profile What is the hold + longevity test? I came up with this to test how well a gel can withstand scrunching out the cast, friction, & movement. This mimics the wear that your curls encounter as you go about your day. ❌ Many gels provide a nice cast once dried, but if your hair becomes frizzy by the end of the day then I don't consider that strong hold. ➰Steps: 1. After diffusing & hair's completely dry and still in the cast, I pick up a curl clump. 2. With dry hands, I start at the top and glide down the strand. I run my finger down multiple times to really test it. 3. If the curl breaks up and becomes frizzy, then the gel does not provide long-lasting hold. If the curl still looks defined, the gel is truly strong hold and will last. Some frizz is totally normal especially if you have a lot of shorter hairs throughout or damage. 🌟Bonus points if you can redefine a curl by just twirling it with dry hands. Both gels can do this because they contain film-forming polymers that don't dissolve by just touching your hair. These gels still have "hold" without crunch and you can have a soft look! ➰RESULTS: 👉🏼OUIDAD: Did not become frizzy or undefined even after running my fingers down it multiple times. I even pulled some hairs out of the clump that didn't belong in that curl family during the test and it didn't frizz. This indicates that you could separate curl clumps and not get frizz with this gel. It also lasts for days with minimal refreshing needed. 👉🏼AG: Became slightly frizzy, specifically at the end, but overall still held its shape nicely and was still defined. This resulted in a "fuller" look and a bit softer. You can see in the video, I twirled the frizz back into the clump easily with no water or product. This gel also holds up well for days and requires minimal refreshing. Both are a win, but the Ouidad has slightly more definition after wear. AG has slightly more fullness.
