If you live in the south, you know how frustrating it can be to spend an hour on your wash day routine, only to step outside and all your styling products dissolves right up from your curls leaving them frizzy and undefined. I wanted to take you through each day of refreshing my hair, from wash day through day 4.
I knew it was going to be hot and humid, so I thought using a strong hold gel and combing it through section by section would do the trick. Boy I was wrong!
I’m taking you along with me each day of refreshing, as I struggle to bring my curls back to life, detangle, and tame the frizz enough to get me through the week.
I think it’s important for you to see that struggle with having “perfect hair” every day, and it’s just not realistic. By taking you along each morning, hopefully these tips and tricks I use for refreshing curls help you out!

Hi Gena,
I have hair almost identical to yours and I so could relate when you said you are in Virginia…so am I! I am a California native and am having to relearn how to take care of my curly hair which has gotten sooooo much curlier here. I think we have the ultimate test for humidity hold! Thanks for the video and product reviews as I am trying to find products that work for my type of curl. I will say that I have used Ouidad Climate Control for years now and I continue to return to it as it is the best thing I have found to work in this Virginia humidity. I still get a lot of frizz if I am outside for a while but I haven’t found anything better.
Totally agree! It is one of the best for humidity.
