VIDEO: How to Save Money on Makeup – Couponing, Discount Sites, & More! Beginner on a Budget

Who doesn’t want to get more for their money? I sure do! Makeup is not cheap by any means, so bargain shopping is a must. Although I love to shop, I’m actually pretty frugal. I only buy what I will use, and I’m always searching for the best deal. I’m going to be sharing my tips and on tricks on how to save money when shopping for makeup, clothing, or anything!

Tip #1: Make a list. knowing exactly what you need will not only keep you from forgetting something, but it allows you to plan out when your getting and how much it will be. Gather all coupons beforehand.

Tip #2: Check weekly ads. each drugstore has a weekly ad on their website or in the newspaper. These will show you what is currently on sale and what kind of promotions they have going on. This will allow you to determine which drugstore has the best deals on what you need.

Tip #3: Sign up for emails. Every store imaginable has an email subscription, and they always let you know about sales. You’ll get insider coupons to print and discounts. I always go through my emails and print all the coupons before going. If you don’t want a crowded inbox, make a special email that is solely for stores.

Tip #4: Combine coupons. Extreme couponing is from combining the stores sales with coupons. At CVS, I usually wait until I get their 20 or 25% off storewide coupon. Then I purchase items that are on sale, like BOGO or items that give you Extra Bucks (like store cash) for purchasing them. I also use manufacture coupons (found in sale papers or printed offline) which can be used at any store. Then I use my CVS Extra Bucks and other CVS coupons like $3 off $15 cosmetic purchase. So after combining all that you really can save a lot! I have a whole video showing how I had $50 worth of beauty products and only spent $8 you can watch here.

Tip #5: Sign up for reward programs. Every store has these, and theyre free to join! CVS’s Exta Care card will allow you to use all the discounts previously mentioned. Their Beauty Club program is an extension of the Extra Care card, and will earn you more rewards!

Tip #6: Total up items before hand. I like to add all my items to the cart on the drugstore’s website before I go so I can see what my total is going to be. This will also allow me to see which drugstore will be the cheapest based on what coupons I have.

Tip #7: Use shopping apps & Discount stores. My favorite is Shop Kick. You get points for walking into stores, or from scanning items. You can redeem points for free gift cards for your favorite stores like Target, Sephora, Starbucks and more. Download the app here: http://bit.ly/ShopKickAppDownload

Tip #8: Buy from Amazon. Amazon is a great site for discounted makeup, especially nail polish. You can find Essie polishes for as low as $2-$3! Avoid using eBay since it’s known for fake replica makeup. Amazon is much safer since they will back your returns if needed.

Tip #9: Check for coupons before ordering online. I always do a quick search on RetailMeNot to see what coupon codes are available. Here’s some current ones I have found:

ELF: Take 50% off our entire Studio line with a purchase of $25 or more at EyesLipsFace.com! Offer valid 2/27 through 3/3 with coupon code STUDIO50.

Walgreens: FREE SHIPPING on all orders of $25 or more. No promo code needed. Offer is now ONGOING.

Tip #10: Take advantage of my discount codes. I have tons of codes that were given to me by companies when I reviewed their products. These are for my viewers to use! They are always listed on the righthand side of my blog under “Lovely Sponsors” and also at the end of each post. I will have a page dedicated to these soon!
