Everyone wants sparkling awake looking eyes! But it can be pretty hard to get when your running on a few hours of sleep and little time to do makeup. Here are a few tricks I know to relieve tired eyes, and make them look more awake!
-De-puff eyes and fade dark circles using the Garnier Anti-puff Eye Roller. The caffeine helps to reduce swelling and the cold metal roller feels nice around tired eyes. They also make on that has some concealer in it, called Garnier Anti-Dark Circle Eye Roller.
-Use a concealer with a peachy tone, like Eve Pearl Salmon Concealer, to conteract the blueness in dark circles.
-Avoid using heavy black eyeliner in your waterline. Apply your liner to your lower lashline and only bring it in about to the inner side of your iris (shown below).
-Apply a shimmery champagne color to the inner corners of your eyes (shown above). I love the one in the Maybelline EyeStudio palette in Give Me Gold. This is the oldest trick in the book to brighten up your eyes, but it really works! Most people use a shimmery white, which is pretty too. But i think white looks best with dark smokey eyes and the champagne looks more natural.
-Apply a white eyeliner to your waterline (shown above), like the Rimmel Soft Kohl Kajal Eye Pencil in Pure White. Or use a skintone color for a more natural effect, like the Stila Kajal Liner in Topaz. The white really accentuates the whites of your eyes and makes them appear less red and bright. If you have dark eyes like me, the whites will really pop!
-Apply a fun color to your lower inner lashline. It ads a nice pop of color and will really make your eyes stand out. Here I used Milani’s Color Brilliance Eye Pencil in Aqua (i think they were discontinued so the price is high on Amazon). Any turquoise or purple color will look great though!
-Another thing you can do, that’s fun too, is apply a sparkly silver liquid liner, like the NYX Liquid Crystal Liner in Crystal Silver, to the inner rims of your eyes. You can just apply this to your upper lashline, or use it as an accent with dramatic winged liner (shown below). Dramatic cat eyeliner also instantly makes your eyes look much bigger. You can manipulate your eye shape with how you draw your cat eye to make it however round or long you want!
I could go on and on, but I’m going to conclude with one more interesting trick. 🙂
-Ya know how cool toned red lipstick (one with a more blueish tint) makes your teeth look whiter? Well it can whiten up the look of your eyes as well! Whenever I wear my NYX Mega Shine Gloss in Plush Red (shown above), my eyes and teeth look so much whiter. Even though the attention is on the lips, the eyes still will stand out and look bright and awake!
#1 Tip- SLEEP! Sleep at least 8 hours so you don’t have to fool with all this 🙂
