Giovanni Curly Hair Routine & Review

Trying Giovanni Curly Products for the First Time | Routine & Review on High Porosity Hair

How have I not tried these Giovanni hair products before?! So many of you love this brand, especially those that are not located in the US because they are widely available internationally and can be found in drugstores and health food stores. Today I’m sharing my first impression review as I walk through my thought process with this wash day routine and share my results.

I received these products as a gift but was not required to do a video, so this is not sponsored. I wanted to capture my first impression with these because I’ve heard such great things. I was sent both the Tea Tree and Smooth as Silk shampoos and conditioner combos but decided to mainly test the Smooth as Silk line since that seems to be everyone’s favorite. It says they’re designed for damaged hair, whereas the Tea Tree line seems to be more clarifying.

For stylers, I tested a leave-in, gel, and a foam. I applied my stylers to wet hair even though I usually style damp. I wish I had stuck to my damp styling because I didn’t get as much hold from gel and it claims to be strong hold. Next time I’m testing these I will definitely try applying them to damp hair and see how much hold I get.

Final Thoughts

I was so impressed! I cannot believe I had not tried this brand before. I enjoyed all the products I tried in this routine. I definitely want to test out this routine again with using less leave-in and apply the gel to just damp hair for more hold. I definitely recommend testing out this line!

Second-Day Results

I totally forgot to record a clip of my second-day hair, but I will hop on Instagram stories to share how my hair looks today (day 2), and I’ll save it to my story highlights. My curls still look great and don’t look dry! I do have some frizz, likely due to the lack of hold. The clumps and ringlets are still in tact, so I might just smooth some gel and a little water over top.

  1. Have you ever tried the deva girl products?? and what did you think??

  2. Thank you for the review, based on your video I did add the shampoo/conditioner/and styling foam. I had already been using the gel.
I love them the first two washes, and then I lost all hold. Wash day was great, but the second and third day my hair was a complete wreck. No curl just frizz (my hair is fine anyway but my curls where completely lost), how would I fix this? I went back to what I was using prior but hope you might give me some ideas on what was going on.
I think over moisturized and just not enough hold, I know I need the moisture just trying to figure out how to get the hold too.
    Thank you,
